Our Leadership

HCA Affiliated Conroe Regional Medical Center is led by a team of more than 1170 employees and 305 staff physicians. This team is supported by an impressive Board of Trustees comprised of highly respected and accomplished physician and community business leaders.

The role of Conroe Regional Medical Center’s Board of Trustees is to assist in evaluating the hospital’s delivery of health care and development of new service lines and programs that ensure our patients are provided the most advanced technology and cost effective health care close to home.

Meet Our Board

John Bock , M. D.

Dr. John Bock is a Neurologist and the Current Chief of Staff at Conroe Regional Medical Center (CRMC). He has been on the medical staff at CRMC since June 1982 and has been a medical staff leader for a number of years. Dr. Bock has served as Physician Advisor, Medicine Department Chair and Vice-Chair, Secretary of the Medical Staff, and Vice-Chief of Staff. He is a member of numerous committees and volunteered to serve this past year as the physician member of our hospital Quality Committee. Dr. Bock’s term on the Board at CRMC began in April 2008.

George Boyle, M. D.

Dr. George Boyle, M. D. is a cardiologist affiliated with the Sadler Clinic and has been a medical staff leader at CRMC for a number of years. Dr. Boyle has served as Medical Director for our Vascular Lab and as Vice Chair of the Cardiology Section. He has been a member of the CRMC Board since April 2003.

Rob Branstetter

Mr. Rob Branstetter serves as the Executive Director for Sadler Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic of 125 medical providers located in Montgomery County, Texas. In his role, Mr. Branstetter oversees the Montgomery County Management Company, LLC. He also provides financial and operational consulting services for affiliated real estate ventures for the Sadler Clinic.

Prior to joining Sadler, Mr. Branstetter was most recently a Divisional Physician CFO for Triad Hospitals, Inc. in Plano, Texas where he managed a division with over 350 physicians at multiple sites throughout the southern states. He has also served in a variety of financial roles at other healthcare organizations including the Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas as well as having large practice academic experience with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He started his healthcare career in audit services in the Texas offices of Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell.

Mr. Branstetter is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Tyler. He and his wife currently live in The Woodlands, Texas.

Dr. John Griffin

Dr. John Griffin is a Pulmonary Disease physician who has been on active staff at CRMC for more than 15 years. He has served on the Credentials Committee and Critical Care Committee and is the former Chairman of the Board for CRMC. Dr. Griffin has served on the CRMC Board since April 2001.

Julie Martineau

Ms. Julie Martineau has served as President of Montgomery County United Way since 1997. Her professional career has been dedicated to non-profit agencies specializing in mental retardation, mental illness and gerontology. Ms. Martineau has been and remains an active member in several local organizations. She has held leadership positions in the South County Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, Leadership Montgomery County, Rotary Club of the Woodlands, National Charity League Bluebonnet Chapter and United Ways of Texas. She is also involved with the Montgomery County Community Assistance Recovery Efforts and Assistance (MCCARES), Montgomery County Public Transportation Task Force, the Fund Distribution Committee of the Montgomery County Community Foundation, and the Houston Galveston Area Council Regional Transit Coordination Subcommittee. Ms. Martineau previously served on the Board of Trustees from 1994-2002.

David Moore

Mr. David Moore is an entrepreneur and President of D. Moore Enterprises, Inc., in Montgomery County. He currently owns Texan Harley-Davidson in Conroe and Harley-Davison The Woodlands. Prior to these ownerships, he owned and operated a private ambulance and medical staffing company in the Houston area. He is currently serving as the Director on the Board of the Greater Conroe/Lke Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce and is also an active participant in many local associations. In 2001 he established the Cut’N’Shoot Charities which has become a major contributor to the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. He has been a resident of Montgomery County for over twenty-five (25) years. Mr. Moore has served on the Board at CRMC since April 2004.

Jerry Nash, PhD

Dr. Jerry Nash, PhDhas been the Chief Executive Officer of Conroe Regional Medical Center since December 2002. As CEO, Dr. Nash is responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of CRMC. During his tenure, CRMC has grown into the regional tertiary care center for Montgomery County and was named the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Montgomery County and the northwest region.

Dr. Nash has over 25 years of experience in Healthcare Administration throughout the United States. He joined Conroe Regional Medical Center from the HCA Gulf Coast Division where he had been the CEO of East Houston Regional Medical Center for three years. Dr. Nash has a vast amount of health care experience both in urban and rural areas, management of multiple facilities, and working in both the for profit and not for profit environments.

Dr. Nash received his M.S. from Emporia State University and his Ph.D. from University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is active in a variety of community service pursuits including the following:

  • March of Dimes – 2006 Chair for Montgomery County Walk

  • Montgomery County United Way
  • Dr. Nash lives in Montgomery with his wife, Karla, and daughter, Chandler. Dr. Nash also has two grown children, son Brian and daughter Stacie.
Desi Pesina

Desi Pesina is a resident of The Woodlands. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University in 1967. He is retired from the Texas Department of Human Services where he held the position of Human Resources Regional Director. He has served as a member and officer on many public service committees over the years. He has served on the CRMC Board since April 2004 and serves as a Board representative on the hospital Quality care Management committee and attends other committee meetings as an observer. Mr. Pesina is currently a member of the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber and LULAC.

George Sowers

Mr. George Sowers is the President of Woodforest National Bank in Conroe. He is former Chairman of the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce and the Montgomery County Community Foundation. He is active in a wide variety of civic pursuits. Mr. Sowers was one of the original Board members of the Montgomery County Hospital District Foundation prior to its takeover by the Hospital District Board. He has served on the CRMC Board since April 2002.

Dexter Upshaw

Mr. Dexter Upshaw is the Director of Human Resources in Secondary Education for Conroe Independent School District. He is currently enrolled at Texas A&M University Department of Education Administration as a Doctoral student. Mr. Upshaw has held several civic leadership positions and is an ordained Baptist Minister. He has served as the Pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church in Conroe since 1998. Mr. Upshaw has been a member of the CRMC Board since April 2005.

Daniel Walker, M. D.

Dr. Daniel Walker, M. D. is the CRMC Board of Trustees Chairman. He is an Internal Medicine/Infectious Diseases physician that has practiced in the community for more than 20 years. Dr. Walker is a current member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and the Peer Review Committee at CRMC, and has also served as a previous Chief of Staff. He has been a member of the CRMC Board since April 2006.

John Wiesner

Mr. John Wiesner is the President of John Wiesner, Inc, a local car dealership that has been prominent in this community for many years. He has served on the CRMC Board since April 2004.
