Mended Hearts
Hope for recovery. Hope for a rich, full life. For more than 50 years, Mended Hearts has been offering the gift of hope and encouragement to heart patients, their families and caregivers.
Patients, spouses, family members, friends, medical professionals, Mended Hearts brings together all of us who are faced with the realties of heart disease to form a network of caring individuals. Mended Hearts support group meets every first Tuesday of the each month at 11:30 AM. For more information, please call 936-539-7447.
Prostate Support Group
Meets the 2nd Monday of the Month 6:30-8:00 PM in the Cancer Resource Library (patients are instructed to enter through the main lobby and take a right down the hallway behind the PBX operator--Library is on the left).
Dialogue (generic support group)
Meets the 4th Wednesday of the month 6:30-8:00 PM in the Case Management Conference Room. (patients are advised to enter through the Women's and Newborns Entrance the conference room is on the left before administration. A nurse and a licensed social worker are on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
Stroke Support Group
For patients, families and caregivers, we have a stroke support group that meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 2:30-3:30pm in the auditorium to share and provide encouragement. For more information, please call 936-539-2550.
Women and Newborn Services Classes
Child Birth Preparation Class
A four week series that prepares the expectant mother and her support person for labor and delivery.
One-day Child Birth Preparation Class
This one day condensed class is intended as a refresher for those who have previously delivered a child, those whose schedule does not allow for the six-week series, or those who are due shortly.
Tour of Women and Newborns Center
This tour is designed for prospective parents to become acquainted with our lovely birthing rooms, nursery and post partum areas and learn about the services available to mother and baby.
Breastfeeding Class
This two hour course covers many of the benefits for breastfeeding. Learn the “how to’ s” and other relevant topics to help mom and baby succeed and enjoy their breastfeeding relationship.
Infant/Child CPR
Individuals who will be caring for infants/and or children can learn the methods of administrating CPR. Participants will be taught by certified CPR instructors and receive an Infant/Child CPR identification card.
Silly Siblings and Tour
This class introduces the older sibling(s) to the changes that will come about when a new baby arrives.
Safe Sitter
This is a two day course for girls and boys age 11 – 13. The Safe Sitter Program is a medically accurate program that teaches your adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. All medical information is taught by a certified professional. Students get hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis. They receive information on child development and age-appropriate activities and also learn about the business aspects of baby-sitting.

H2U Brown Bag Luncheon
Every third Wednesday of the month from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm we have an information/educational seminar on a different health topic. Physicians and professional medical staff are invited to speak on their expertise and share relevant medical information to help us lead healthy, productive lives.
